Even in "Movie" mode [one of the dimmest modes] with the lamp on "Eco" setting, it produces a very bright picture with very good color saturation. I've purchased 2 of these units. One for work and one for my church. This is a really nice projector! The short throw lens has finally allowed me to mount a projector in a location that was impossible before. The specs on this projector state the largest screen diameter is 100" diagonal can't be mounted farther than approx. 3 feet from the screen. For my church I'm using this to display a 130" diagonal image about 5 feet back. I can't get the sides of the image completely straight but it's very close and hardly noticeable by anything less than a trained eye.
